Venue - Grand Hotel Terminus

The meeting will be held at the venerable Grand Hotel Terminus (recently upgraded). The meeting starts with an ice breaker at the hotel on Sunday 5 September at 18:00. 

Hotel reservation - Grand Hotel Terminus

We have a block reservation from 5 to 10 September of 25 rooms at the conference hotel and 25 rooms at the neighbouring Zander K building. To make a reservation, please contact booking@grandterminus.no, or call +47 55 21 25 00, and mention the WISE meeting. Use reservation code 4509152 for Terminus and 013190 for Zander K. The deadline for reservations will be August 20. The price is NOK 850 per night, single occupancy, including breakfast. For double occupancy, the price is NOK 1050 per night. Arriving earlier is of course possible, but please book early as there is no block reservation before Sunday 5 September. 

Things to do in Bergen

There is a range of fishing villages along the coast that you could visit, and if you're into hiking, the Hardanger plateau is beautiful. Finse 1222 Hotel is bang on the Finse railway station. This is an excellent starting point for skiing on the plateau.

While in Bergen, I would recommend hiring a car so that you can explore the countryside. Rosendal for example is three hours away by car and has a lovely barony manor house.

There are also several fjord cruises that start in Bergen, most notably Norway in a nutshell.
